Why not do it right the first time?
How many times have we heard that question - or asked it of someone else? This time I’m asking myself. Rather than just go buy a firewire cable to transfer things to my new laptop, I tried doing it the hard way, the less efficient way, the way I didn’t understand — all of those — and a few easy ways, too. Of course, I did this over the course of days
I managed to get Leon’s 40 plus work photo files to his laptop quickly and easily using my .mac email! I used flash drives to transfer my documents and .mac sync to transfer mail folders, address book, etc. No brainers. But for our downloaded software and thousands of personal photos since I don’t have a flash drive big enough to handle them with ease, well, Leon is buying a new firewire cable, right now.
That didn’t work. Office Depot does not carry 6 pin to 6 pin. Guess we will have to find somewhere else to buy one. If only I had gotten one last weekend, imagine how much work otherwise I could have gotten done.
This would have been done last week had I just bought the cable. Lesson learned? Not necessarily, history likes to repeat itself, right?
