Tumbled Words

Our closing papers are coming today FedEx!! Two more days until actual closing and the house will have a new family to love it and make memories while living in it. How cool is that! My wish that the house be bought by someone who really wanted to live in it, has come true…. though I sure would have appreciated it had it come through sooner! That said, I do not regret wishing it go to a family that would be happy in it. My bank account does, but I don’t.

I paid the yard man to cut one more time, tomorrow, so they would not be moving in this weekend with one more thing to deal with. (Thank you, Leon, for braving the heat and fire ants down here so we could afford to do that - and pay for the house those ten long months waiting for the right family to find it and buy it. I KNOW how lucky we were - and I am extremely grateful!)

Why was the yard work so important to me? Because when we moved in their was trash piled high beneath the front stairs, tree pieces against the wood siding rotting themselves, just waiting to rot the siding. One more thing to deal with that shouldn’t have been. (And yes, had I to do it again, I would have enforced the contract that said they were supposed to have cleaned it out… instead Leon and I braved creatures months later — after much procrastination because of said creatures we both have a major creep factor toward — and had to pay to dump it all.)

Now, I have work to do, only a little, as I am at war with a sinus headache - and I don’t do sinus medicine. But I bet those papers in hand will make me forget it for a while, grin… After all, just writing about them put it in hiding for a while.

(Contract returned and signed. Countdown, inspections, etc. One step closer to selling our house.)

Oh, and the clues… Apple iPhone 3G. Just as soon as we find time to get to it… that may be a while.

Leon tried to back out of “getting” me one, and even though I know his sense of humor, I am still not sure if he was messing with me or not, but he agreed.

But, when you think about it, other than my MacBook, I don’t buy stuff for me, nor does he. Not that we haven’t in the past had a boat, a guitar, spent money on costumes, had a stereo and an aboveground pool and taken rare vacations.

I don’t collect things or have golf clubs or tennis rackets or 60 inch TVs or even an iPod. We don’t have video games or have a boat or two cars or even a stereo anymore. I don’t buy hundreds of pairs of shoes or lots of purses or diamonds or whatever. We don’t spend money on movies or attractions or vacations right now either.

So, this will be my splurge, for him it will be extremely helpful in our business, for me it will be as well, but it will, also, something that will make me grin.

… was accepted and signed, waiting on it to make its way back from the other agent to be “official”. Fingers still crossed until mid August comes and goes…

There won’t be huge purchases to celebrate since the market dropped so much, but since it has been since last mid October trying to get a good firm qualified offer on it, we are splurging a little bit.

I bet if you thought real hard you could guess what my one purchase will be, probably even before closing, because it just happens at least one of the two needs replacing anyway….

• No, not computers.
• No, nothing as big as a car.
• No, not a trip to England, you know I don’t like planes, and that may be happening next year in spite of my fears, sigh.
• No, not our RV yet, we will have to earn the money for that - or win the lottery.
• No, not a personal chef, that would take the lottery, too, but I need one!
• No, not a new Hobie for Leon, he will have to earn the money for that, too.

Give up? Its brand name could remind you of food…. or computers… or teachers… or funny commercials… or….
