Marcia
A prompt from a friend, ten words to use in poem. A poem of hope. Trust me, it’s there, I put it in, not on purpose, but it is there… you know i don’t plan these things, they just find themselves being typed. You can forgive me tossing in another poem, can’t you? It is short.
Finally Came
In used car
at boarded fruit stand
so broke
and tired
you said
I watched you
smile as snow drifts
freshened by plows
turned your gray
to reflected light
finally.

Now, back inward for a few hours, no, back to work. That is what I was doing.

Did you see what I saw in this photo?
Think so? Clue found in first stanza of my I’m-in-a-strange-mood-poem below:
Her One Day World, Defined br>

Grasshopper light
defines my space
when life falls absurdly out of place
Crystal hinge
defines my world
when mind’s focus abstractly twirled
Icicle shades
defines my view
when heart song fails halved by two
Twisted key
defines my voice
when words are chanted not by choice
Chalk drawn gate
defines my ears
when doors to thought follow tears

You already figured out I lived in an alternate or Sometimes World, didn’t you?

Climate Control
Cold air found us
and this morning’s walk
required
- two thin layers-
of fleece
- hoods raised -
to hold back the wind’s
goal to freeze
but, true to Florida,
in just those 30ish minutes
layers were peeled as the
aggressive sun fulfilled
its own desires
- not mine -
The wind must love me
for it has remained,
though much weakened
by that vicious sun,
and both fight for entrance
- in my one opened window -
and I am grateful
for them both
- for the moment -

Happy Tax Day! May your CPA, unlike ours, not smoke his cigarettes into your forms…. I had to put them aside to air out before I can read them… sigh.
