Earth Day!

Posted at 1:50 pm under Make the world better

If only every day were earth day, our world might change for the better a bit faster. Happy Earth Day!

Leon helped the earth yesterday by buying two reusable grocery bags to save some plastic from the mounds of un-deteriorated plastic at landfills and from the mouths of sea life.

Speaking of which: Do you prefer to carry the plastic grocery bags because the handles do not cut into your arm as much as thin straps? Do what many crafters are doing, cut apart a plastic bag, use if for a pattern for the bag and lining and sew it up. Of course, using natural materials do make more sense than others.

We run the A/C compressor in Florida less by using our dehumidifier to help it along. On that end, in our former Florida home, we planted trees to not only help shade the house, but put oxygen back into the air. In Washington, we opened the windows except in the most extreme cold, comfy fleece attire, hot tea, and a love of that climate helped!

If you shave your face or legs using a sink full of water or by running water, do you realize, a mere cup of water to clean your razor as you go works just fine?

Just a few of the little things we do, but multiplied and added to all the little things we all do… and then the big ones, well, you get the idea.

Most certainly!! And this might happen if we can dissipate the overriding greed and arrogance of those who should be leading, instead of ‘looting’ mother Gaia.

Bravo to you! I have put an Earth Day message on both of my writing blogs.

Happy Earth Day to you… ;)

Did you ever read Shelly’s post re: sharing a room with someone who used a sink of water to do everything…..and I mean everything…from brushing her teeth to washing her face, shaving, etc. Funny but gross!

I can always count on you to remind me of things I try to forget! Gross, too gross for me! Yes, Matty, I read it and put it behind me, until now… grin. -M

Matty’s last blog post..SUMMER CAMP IS NOT ‘JUST’ FOR KIDS!!
