Hodge Podge
1. Where am I? Today, people walking into dermatologist office were actually saying hello to those of us in waiting room as they walked in. Huh? What a change in people, a positive change.
2. Leon’s new career - and mine: going quite well… like any job there are those days, but they sure come less often!
3. NaPoWriMo month has been a blast for many poets. We are writing a poem a day. But, that is not a requirement. Why not just try one? Even if you just take a simple “Roses are red” poem and change it up. Just to say you wrote a poem once in your life - other than school.
4. If you smell something musty, investigate! Turns out there was mold growing in one AC in the apartment, we didn’t see it until it blossomed onto the outside grates. NOT fun. I am sure a big part of the reason is because the windows don’t close properly so damp air is constantly entering. There is also no stove hood or fan, not that we have been cooking much, but still. We even run the dehumidifier as often as we can stand the noise, use the bathroom exhaust fan before, during, and after showers and run the air conditioners all the time but those few beautiful Florida days when the air is dry and cool. Leon did the Clorox thing himself quite thoroughly, but it still smells musty after airing out the apartment for a few days most of the day and evening. Cannot WAIT to move… In fact, had the house sold, we would have moved before our lease expired. So, no, the house has not sold. We may have to give up and rent it out.
5. Went for a quiet walk the other morning, they have been few and far between. Some idiot (yes, I used that word) in a speed boat was racing up and down the Intracoastal early in the morning at around 50 mph (knots, whatever). The speed limit is 25 and there are known manatees in the water.
6. Now, turn off the stereos, iPods, TVs, radios. Spend just a very few minutes listening to nature and the sounds of your neighborhood. Yes, open the windows or the door and listen. I just did. It was so peaceful just listening. I had forgotten.
7. And in honor of the Tulip Festival I am missing in WA this month… click on this link to see the photos I took one year.

Marcia……where are the tulips?
Roses are red…violets are blue
Marcia’s memory is going
What about you?
I SWEAR I made the link, Matty… well, I remember finding the link! Grin. It is there now, are you sure it wasn’t there before… OK, I messed up. But — I am so proud of you writing that poem!
Matty’s last blog post..SUMMER CAMP IS NOT ‘JUST’ FOR KIDS!!
Hi Marcia,
I must admit to some confusion as to where/how/what/how y’all are doing. If you come up our way, give us a shout and we can meet.
Brian: Of course, we will. I have a feeling this summer we will be running away from home, heading North, and not just for hurricanes… I am going to need a distraction from heat! Wait, where you are it is probably even warmer…. yeah, but the company is fun! We are still where we were, searching for a better place to stay.
