Stopping on interstate!
Note to whomever:
We all make mistakes, often someone will change lanes without seeing the person who already occupies that space. It happens.
B u t . . . when the person whose space you are attempting to occupy brakes enough that he misses splattering you across the highway (and us with you)… do NOT STOP once you get in his lane… especially at interstate speeds!!!!!!!! HELLO! It is not just him you will hurt but half a highway of people flying by…. The only thing that saved your tail this time is that just before you pulled your little stunt, the traffic flowing at 70 mph had slowed a bit in the congestion of a Friday night, and as it sped up again, the cars behind him were just far enough back to slow down and NOT hit him… or you.
I tried to think good thoughts and assume you missed a gear or panicked… but considering that you changed lanes with just inches to spare at least five times and road on the bumpers of others until you could, my guess would be neither of my attempts at good thoughts were the least bit legitimate. I hope everyone else you met that night were as lucky as we were. And the nice person in me hopes you don’t hurt anyone for your own sake as much as theirs, ’cause should you stop to think about it, you may just find you have a heart and conscience buried inside you somewhere.
