Vote!

Posted at 11:19 pm under banter

Simonne at All Tips And Tricks is having a group writing project asking…’What is Your Best Blogging Achievement?’ You can see the entries here. I vote for Shelly to win.

Now, Simonne has asked that we vote for our top three. I have such a hard time not following rules in something like this, even though I want to break them.

I will follow her rules and vote for two more winners as well as Shelly, though I believe Shelly’s accomplishment is in a league of its own. But, I can relate to the other writers and would most likely have written similarly as the other eight entrants had I entered!

Jacob and Tclian would be my other two votes. Tclian because learning is so important to everyday living… and to learn, anything, is an accomplishment.

But I have to add that Shelly — with ONE initial blog post recruited a small army of volunteers to get those afghans made. And — she kept after us, she is still keeping after us. That accomplishment in my eyes goes above and beyond.

I think her achievement with blogging and Share A Square is quite remarkable. Besides the sheer number of afghans that have already been created by the many for the 140 children who will attend Camp Sanguinity in summer of 2008 and the volume of people who have assisted her in some way, personally - for me, her enthusiasm was contagious. It pushed me into contacting someone I would have never bothered for myself. I, also, drug my fingers to the keyboard to configure links multiple times on multiple blogs — and we all know I am a first class procrastinator. As many times as I wrote and linked about Share A Square, well, it was her doing, not literally… really, can you imagine how much I tried to procrastinate even then, but lost my own war?

Read all the entries, they all had something to say about blogging that many of us, if not all of us can identify with. Then vote.

If you have not already checked out Share A Square, click here before you go vote…. You can’t leave her updates on the project without feeling good about human beings, you really can’t….

And if you haven’t visited the special (and non-related to this) links I posted earlier tonight, please do… They can be found here!

P.S. Hi to Sarah, in Kirkland! Get those stories written down, girl!

Thank you Marcia for taking time to vote in my project and for introducing my blog to your readers. The Share a Square project is great, indeed.

Simonne, I will be back to read more of your blog and introduce it properly. I just had to rush back and vote for Shelly.

I really hope that Shelly wins this…she needs all the encouragement she can get. This has been a huge, ginormous project and I think it’s taken its toll on her. A little acknowledgment will go a long way. Cheers.

Like most times people jump up to the plate like that, they know it will be work, but cannot imagine it being that much work, though she has volunteered before. She does deserve to win, more than just that, Matty! I know you agree.
