Susan, aka Tumblewords, not to be confused with my blog title is a wonderful poet and does fascinating things with computer graphics, aka fractals. Worth a visit, for sure.
She is also the person who led me to a site where I can both increase my vocabulary, play, and give rice to people who need it via the United Nations: FreeRice. And for me and the others I have shared the site with, it is addictive — and we have donated quite a bit of rice!
Brian of Truth is Freedom, has just published his first book, REAL MAGIC. It is a love story, but with evil demons included. There is a bit of it on the side bar of his blog. I have an autographed copy, and although there is a bit of stuff in there I am sensitive about, I couldn’t stop reading it! I was never quite sure if I was right about who was going to back stab who. Brian sent out signals to confuse me and I loved it! If you don’t already know Brian, he is also a great poet.
Now, I understand he had a bit of input from Rose of Flash Your Knickers Here on the love/sex scenes. Although I am quite sure he could have written them just fine on his own, I am happy he accepted her input. Check out this poem she just wrote in response to a prompt about food: Eat Me.
And, Karen with Write From Karen will be having a photo contest again. She has one six times a year! Click here to get the rules.
Now, to end on a serious note. I was lucky enough to find a friend of Leon’s from the theatre that we lost track of because of my untimely response to his letters. I had tried searching on the internet before with no luck. Recently, I found him! And he is involved behind the scenes with World Vision’s interactive experience on the actual lives of children affected by HIV and AIDS that is so thought provoking, I am not sure I can go see it. Thank goodness, I have enough natural empathy to not need reminders like this for the most part. Whether you plan to see the interactive exhibit or not, you may want to be aware they are doing it — and share it with others. Perhaps you would like to volunteer when it comes to an area near you… The World Vision Experience: Aids.
I could offer Leon up as a volunteer — and just wait outside until he and our friend are off duty, grin. Now, would I do that? Darn right! But seriously, check it out.

Glad you enjoyed ‘Real Magic’. And thanks for the links.
Brian, you’re welcome, I so hope your book sells lots and lots of copies. I enjoyed reading it… I’ll add my review to Amazon as soon as I figure out which password (AND ID) I used… too many new ones and a broken PDA, but I’ll figure it out.
Marcia,
I have ‘FreeRice’ on my desktop..so the grandkids and I both play and send rice. I’ll check out your other links later..they sound great.
Matty, glad to here yet another person doing it.
[...] visited the special (and non-related to this) links I posted earlier tonight, please do… They can be found here! P.S. Hi to Sarah, in Kirkland! Get those stories written down, [...]
Wow! Thanks for the kind words and the link! Just discovered it. Haven’t played Rice for a week or so, but want to get back there today. How did your Nano project go? I finished mine but haven’t edited - might save that ’til I get too old. Grin.
