Butterflies and Pigs, Race of the Century
Butterflies and Pigs, Race of the Century
It was a race
between butterflies and pigs,
set up by one
adventuresome magician.
Outcome, inevitable?
Pigs chased food,
lumbering about
until they paused
to wallow in mud
Butterflies flitted
from stamen to stamen
and back,
race was no concern
There were no winners,
or were there?

Cool shot; how’d you get it?
And the poem’s a hoot, Marcia. I really like this one!
Thanks, Susan. I just waved the camera around while we were driving down the road at night — and that is what came out from the signs and street lights, I could not believe it when I saw a butterfly and pig abstract. Had to write a poem for it, just had to.
I love the shot, too! And, the poem made me laugh. Winners? Hey, if everybody got to eat, they were all winners.
Well, you must be feeling better, Shelly, but then I bet it was the pig that drew you out, BACON. Yeah, they were winners and I’m happy you liked my lucky shot.
