On comments, organization, and sharing….
It is a fact that I am what they used to call scatter-brained. I know there is a more appropriate modern word for it, but I am too wound up in my own excitement to think of it. I love to visit other blogs and comment… And I have always tried to visit each blogger that visits me… Sometimes I get sidetracked and the next two months will be worse. So, I implemented “Marcia” organization.
Before I reply on my blogs to your comments I will visit your blog and find something fascinating to comment on if I haven’t already that day. Then I will come back and reply on my blog to your comment. That way I will know I have already visited you. Makes sense, right? Well, for normal people, maybe.
I started doing that last week… And what happened? Well:
- I started reading multiple entries on yout blogs and then followed links to other blogs and then forgot to come back and reply on my own blog —
- I “got into” replying on my own blog, forgetting to stop with just that one and replied to many, thus throwing my organization and tracking system in the trash, essentially.
I’ll get it right eventually, but in the meantime, I have tags to punch and squares to knit for Share A Square… If you haven’t started knitting or crocheting yet — or haven’t at least talked about it on your blog or to everyone you know, today is the PERFECT day to start!
And if you need a visual to see why to get the word out for the kids, click on the new blog of Matty’s (Running on Empty) grandson, “Mr T.” It is Young Warrior. He is the recipient of the first afghan that we all worked so hard on and he is showing it off for us. The other 140 are going to the kids at Camp Sanguinity… and if they smile over theirs next summer even a fraction of what Mr. T has… well… it will help balance the world! And if you go now, you can see his newest “hair style”, guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
But stop back here (a simple back click on your browser, you know… grin). Follow this link, if you still aren’t convinced of the benefit of the afghan to a child. I posted 17 things that the afghans could be used for on this Thursday Thirteen… yes, I know 17 is 4 more than 13… but hey, I’m a poet, just consider it poetic license — or the excitement of a childlike mind…
Now, find someone to crochet or knit just 6 square inches and add a tag — so 140 more kids can read the tags with amazement… and then put them to good use…. And as adults — well you know what joy to a child does for your own heart…. I don’t need to tell you… but I can’t help myself…

Hahaa.. I get lost in following links too
Sidebar stuff always catches my eye.
I wish I could crochet or knit. I think what you are doing is wonderful.
Hi Marcia. Hope you aren’t working too hard. Thanks for sharing that commenting method, I may try it. I do have a method already, but blog life is a constant flux for me. Great title by the way, really made me want to read the post.
I still can’t get it right, Skittles. I still get side-tracked and worse now, I am rushing because I am so used to having nothing to do and now I have too much. Best laid plans…
I wish you could, too, Rose, if for no other reason than how great it feels at times like this, but seriously, when I make myself sit down and knit, it is so soothing.
You and I are more alike than we are so very different, Damien… Glad I got a title right for a change, grin.
