Making magic happen, partial reveal…
So, y’all, the answer to the question I posed toward the end of of “Making magic happen, continued” is:
“yes”!!
You missed the question? It is still here, waiting to be read.
The second half of our plan to get our dream retirement can’t be revealed yet…. and it is not happening yet…. but that “yes” opened the doors wide for that dream and we only recently dared dream it! Although, if someone had insisted we be paid to travel around the country OUR way and blog about it, we would have considered it. (Make that jumped on it!) Instead it means education, of sorts.
First three steps of our plan:
- Sell the house we have been refurbishing, but haven’t finished mostly due to his job hours.
- Buy an RV
- find an RV resort within reasonable driving distance of his office (and they are out there!) and live in it full time.
I know some of you see NOTHING great about this plan at all… but since we moved to Washington to be outside instead of cooped up in a house all day, living in a small space will PUSH us outside — and without a house to refurbish, we only have all the maintenance of the RV and not the yard and painting, et. al. And with all those state parks to visit in our RV…
Now, we want to be in it before we fly down to visit our son in Florida for Thanksgiving — and get back before the snow comes, although, I have predicted no snow this year… but I realize the right buyer may not be ready to jump on the opportunity to buy a home in a wonderful neighborhood, but we have not just crossed our fingers and our toes, I have braided a lock of my hair; hey, I want this to happen!
I was so hoping this would happen I started a blog months ago, RV Poetry, grabbing the name in preparation for writing about our RV experiences. I will start updating it regularly… trying to keep the RV buying and traveling separated from Tumbled Words… so with the exception of this occasional series on “Making magic happen”, this blog will remain about anything and everything…
If you are the least bit curious about what I DREAM I can stuff in a tiny RV kitchen, click on I don’t love to cook, but… You will just shake your head.
Now, can you picture a flighty, but opinionated blonde who moved walls around in a previous house like only a few even move furniture trying to choose the exact RV, much less get her husband who thinks things out methodically to make a quick decision? Neither can I, but it sure will be fun trying…
Now, send it out to the universe, please… Our house will sell ASAP to a buyer who will LOVE the opportunity to live in our neighborhood, knowing that the town just half mile down the road has been touted as a future Bellevue… You know, get in before the prices escalate even more… And they will offer us MORE than our asking price, considerably more, just because they are anxious to move in and make it theirs…..
Hey, if I am going to dream, I am going to do it right… and after all, I did include their dream in mine, I sent it out that they would LOVE it, not buy it just because….
