Thursday Thirteen - Bolster Matty Week
Why I have declared this Bolster Matty Week?
1. She is a fellow blogger!
2. and is not afraid to speak her mind like here on Elder Abuse.
3. She believes you gotta have faith.
4. She responds to her comments, a good Schoomzer.
5. She will make you laugh in recognition like this one about “too many men”.
6. She won the second, “This Blog Blows My Dress up Contest.”
7. And donated her prize to be used for yarn for Share A Square
8. and then allowed herself to be roped in to judge Shelly’s next contest - and was a good judge (No, I didn’t win.)
9. She is a thinking blogger who will give you the shirt off her back in spite of laws to the contrary
10. I declared it Bolster Matty Week here. Figured it sounded less every day than hold her hand week.
11. She is raising her two wonderful grandchildren.
12. Her grandson’s Leukemia was in remission for 14 months
13. It isn’t now, he starts new aggressive treatment next week, and then faces a bone marrow transplant.
Bonus: She would do it for you, but that is not the point - She would not LIKE me asking for your sympathy, so I am NOT, (’cause she speaks her mind, remember?) I am just suggesting that a little bolstering wouldn’t hurt. And this is the one way I can think of to bolster her. Can’t think of something to say? Leave this comment on her site: Happy Bolster Matty Week! (And whatever you do, do NOT tell her I invented the day.) Her site name is Running On Empty — and believe me, she is quite adept at going when some would have thrown their hands up… So, let’s fill her up! You will find her here!!!
The purpose of the meme is to get to know everyone who participates a little bit better every Thursday. Visiting fellow Thirteeners is encouraged! If you participate, leave the link to your Thirteen in others comments. It’s easy, and fun! Be sure to update your Thirteen with links that are left for you, as well! I will link to everyone who participates and leaves a link to their 13 things. Trackbacks, pings, comment links accepted!

Thanks for making us aware of Matty and her grandson’s illness; I’ll keep them in my thoughts and prayers.
That is great for you to do, Nancy!
I love that you’re doing this.. I went over and gave more ‘hugs’… I think she needs bunches. And I have bunches to give
Bunches of hugs are a good thing to have and give, I’m glad you give them, Shelby.
Hey there! Thanks for dropping by my blog!! That’s a good list! Re: starting a meme, (since I don’t yet have subscribe to comments installed.) I’m trying to come up with ideas, (and which day to do it on,) also, I would probably run out of topics at some point, (I get writers block really easily.) Today, I got writers block half way through my TT! I still plan to start one, just not sure when/what day. Cheers, and thanks again for stopping by!!

Noelle, I’m sure you will think of something! Look forward to seeing what it is.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and visting..
Yolanda, it was a great visit, thank you.
Marcia,
I just came to visit to get the code for Thursday Thirteen…and I was pleasantly surprised…well…shocked! Thank you Marcia……your kind words made me cry….and I haven’t broken down yet. I just hold it in…..and show the world and my grandson that everything is ‘A okay’…and we’ll get through this..and then you go and do something like this…….and I’m sobbing into my keyboard. I know! (about time the keyboard got cleaned).
Bloggers have got to be the most compassionate people in the world…believe me..I feel the love and support coming my way. I know that my grandson will get through this……thanks to all the great people out there who care about a kid with cancer. There is so much power in prayer and positive wishes. I don’t know how I can thank you and everyone for all their wishes, prayers and positive thoughts sent our way. Now I feel that together nothing will stop us……we can move mountains….so what’s a little bit of cancer? It doesn’t stand a chance!
You do give me strength! Thanks so much! When I read the kind words of all the bloggers out there…like you & Shelly & so many others…..it restores your faith in humankind again…and I believe there are so many wonderful, caring, compassionate people out there. Its a win/win situation! Together we can make cancer a thing of the past….and I’ll get to bring my grandson home again for good! Many thanks!
Can’t speak for the others, but you can thank me just by continuing to be Matty (as we know you) — Laugh, cry, think, hurt, be joyous, be thankful, rant, and dance! — basically, just be and feel — we were put on this earth to live each day the best we can — that is all the thanks I need..
You are a great friend.
So lost — thank you for saying that.
What a wonderful thing to do. I’m aware of Matty’s grandson through Shelly at This Eclectic Life. I was glad that Shelly decided to donate the first blanket for Love To Share to him.
TeaMouse - So, was I. Thank you for the kind remark.
Oh I forgot to mention I have you linked for Eye Comment - thanks for joining.
You’re welcome!
She sounds like a wonderful person.
I’m glad that came across, Rose.
