Heads or Tails #1
Skittles (Barb) has started a new meme at Skittles Place. It will be great fun and a lot of food for thought. She is leaving the prompt at our discretion to do with as we may. Today, I chose poetry, next week may be a photo. This is the first day of her meme. Why not run over and grab a button and play along! Just click on her logo above.
Today: Beginning(s)
In the midst of marriage, there is a beginning…
His sense
of responsibility
leaves little room
for dreams
so she shares hers.His self
devaluation
leaves little room
for acceptance of praise
but she still gives it.His need
to give
leaves little room
for receiving
but it slips through his guard. It is the beginning of his becoming whole.
It is the beginning of her recognition of love’s power.MeeAugraphie

What a good poem. Things work that way around my house sometimes. I don’t mind. Love conquers all.
Thanks for joining in.
Thanks for the welcome. It will be a fun meme, well, depending on what you send us when the coin lands on tails.
beautiful, beautiful poem!
Christieo, thank you very much.
wow, that’s really nice. I don’t read poetry too often…more of a prose girl really, but that was quite lovely.
Silverneurotic, I try to write for all of us, not just poets, so I really really appreciate your comment. Thank you.
Beautiful poem! I love to write poetry, but have strayed away from my writing - you have inspired me to start writing again!
Misty Dawn, thank you. I do hope you start writing poetry again!
beautiful..
I thought of you today when reading one of my new books, “A Year by the Sea,” - a quote in it:
“To arrive where you are, to get there from where you are not, you must go by a way wherein there is no ecstasy.” quote by T.S. Eliot … don’t know why - but that you just might like the words… I am often touched by how you react to words in message…
take care
Shelby - you are too sweet - I love this quote - you were right - and there may be a reaction, though this one I think I have to actually think about and not rely totally on instinct — because I feel myself wanting to argue with it, but I think it is not necessarily arguable. Expect a post, I can’t not, now that I have been challenged, but then we know how long it may take to get it posted, don’t we!
that is absolutely beautiful!!
And Miles to Go — thank you very much.
