A rock chick at heart
1990, he was 12. Just before Halloween, he wanted a party. Our back porch had been used as the hub or repairs and projects, the concrete was grungy. Leon added the anti-slip to white paint for the concrete and painted. . . (hush!)
Halloween came, kids came, univited kids came, tacos became food fight ammunition. Make that tacos with greasy hamburger and red chili and cumin spices. . . The floor was never the same. Nor was I.
Once I put that florescent green Tina Turner wannabe wig on, the rocker in me never left. Luckily for our son (and his friends) I already knew I couldn’t sing by then, so did not attempt it. I did teach a few of the girls a belly dance step or two, though.
Now, what was he saying to me? That is the expression of a child who knows he can tell his mom anything —

Classic! Your son doesn’t look bashful at all!!!
Shyness is not/was never in his vocabulary, Damien, unless it is attached to the word “Mom” and I have a feeling he won’t make that association much longer, I have just about pushed those memories right out of his 29 year old head! He obviously either got the lack of shyness from his dad.
Oh my goodness, YES! I knew that you were much more rambunctious than you let on! Great fun, I love it.
Shelly - me, act innocent, or less rambunctious — why I never did, well, not after I became an adult anyway, though I am a perfect angel who follows rules - - except writing rules. Oh, that and the length of skirt rules. Grin
Crazy…….love it! Your son looks a lot like you.
Matty - it is so much fun to just let loose and have fun! Have to find the color version. I don’t see the resemblance, he looks more like his dad now!
