Now, I’ve done it with the computer’s help
OK, I just deleted my rant. (Before you read it?) Applecare got my laptop working again off and and on and is sending a new power supply - and - I ordered my new computer! Can you guess?
20 inch iMac, only 1GB memory (I know it is not enough, I’ll have to upgrade later, for now I squeezed all the money out of my credit card I dared. . . (You may can the lectures about spending cash on things, I spend little money on anything else! Besides, I do know the reasons for both viewpoints on spending money. But if you really want to lecture, just know that I understand and appreciate concern!)
My new workhorse has a 250 GB hard drive — that will hold ALL my pictures — and more novels than I can write! I have a year before I have to purchase the extended warranty, which, I love, and have used with my ibook. I love it most though because it will have the Tiger operating system so I can go widget crazy if I really want to. . . not, of course, that I will. . . .
It will be strange using a computer with a 2.0 or 2.16 (which did I buy???) processor instead of my little tiny 1.2 - and the letters will be so large on a 20 inch screen instead of the 12 inch. HMMM, if I start acting stranger than normal in the next few weeks, it is probably just the confusion my brain is having switching from 12 to 20 to 12 to 20 — because I can’t be chained to a desk. . .
I know, then why did I get a desktop? Uhmmm, because it was big! and I will be able to watch my brother’s videos better! And because, well, because I could.
So, I won’t be reading as much this week, yet again, because the chemicals that emit from Leon’s laptop affect my breathing– my laptop doesn’t do it. . . I sure hope the new computer doesn’t. I can’t use Leon’s more than a few minutes at a time. . . I wish he would sell it — but he needs PC for work — that’s a shame.
Oops, I didn’t get a firewire plug to move the contents from my laptop. . .
Leon is so sweet he offered to add the shipping to get it here quicker — but I have spent enough money! And as much as I love side trips, why on earth did I not think of driving down to Oregon to buy it since they have no sales tax??? Maybe because I would have to wait another week!

Thanks for commenting on my excellent investment — they emailed last night that it was ’shipped’ which probably just means the paperwork was done — but I have an actual tracking number in my little hands now — and it is amazing just how excited I am! Is it here yet? Good thing we have a weekend to distract me.
